On April 25th the new members of the Royal Signals White Helmet Display Team will graduate at the Regiments camp at Blandford Forum, amongst all the pomp and ceremony you’d expect from the British Army and finally achieve their reward in receiving the Display Teams White Helmet created by Davida.
Since 2015, Davida have been honoured and proud to be the helmet sponsor of the Royal Signals White Helmet Display Team. Every year, for the past ten years and at a total cost of more than £50,000, Davida have supplied the Team with 21 new White Helmets carrying the Regiments emblem of the winged messenger, Mercury and with each helmet bearing the name of the Team member and their blood group.
It’s an exclusive club. Only a handful of new recruits are given the chance every year to pitch themselves against the rigorous and challenging 5 week training course and master all of the bike-acrobatics for which the Team is famous for. This is even more impressive when you learn that the majority of the new recruits have never ridden a motorcycle before. Bob Brannigan, a former White Helmet explains.” Those who’ve never ridden before are taking their CBT on the first afternoon, and those who have ridden before are taken away to be untaught everything they’ve previously learnt. By the end of the 2 weeks they are jumping through hoops of fire on the Triumph.
